A Meeting on Visibility in Global Rankings was Held in Line with Our University's Strategic Goals

Strategic efforts to enhance academic performance and international visibility within our University continue at full pace. In this context, the University Ranking Commission operating under our Coordination Office held a comprehensive evaluation meeting with the participation of our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Tuğba YOLCU.

The meeting was conducted with full attendance of the University Ranking Commission Chair, Lecturer Deniz ERMİŞOĞLU, and commission members. During the meeting, the key parameters determining universities’ global competitiveness and the data policies of international ranking organizations were thoroughly discussed.

Data Management at Global Standards

The main agenda item of the meeting focused on the data sources of ten prestigious international ranking organizations, including THE (Times Higher Education), QS World University Rankings, ARWU (Shanghai Rankings), URAP, and SCImago.

The main topics highlighted during the meeting were as follows:

  • Optimization of Data Collection Processes:

Operational processes were planned to ensure that institutional data are submitted accurately and on time during application stages.

  • Interdepartmental Cooperation:

Emphasizing that success in rankings is the result of collective effort, it was agreed to ensure the most efficient data sharing among all academic and administrative units.

  • Sustainability and Traceability:

It was decided to take concrete steps to not only report data but also standardize them and establish a traceable data infrastructure.

“A Precise and Sustainable Process Management”

During the meeting, the importance of data-driven strategic management in strengthening our University’s position in the international arena was emphasized. It was stated that conducting the process in a precise and sustainable manner would directly contribute to the University’s brand value.

The meeting concluded with the decision to determine a technical roadmap for data standardization and to prepare a report outlining the University’s current status.
